Lead Marine Engineer
Location: South Coast - Lymington Salary - Dependant on experience We are a looking for Senior Marine Engineer for a well established fast-growing marine business located on the South Coast, representing a range of premium brands in propulsion, electric propulsion, stabilisation, and onboard systems across all sectors.
Knowledge of Volvo Penta is a must for this role.
You mainly based in Lymington with some travel required As a Lead Marine Engineer, the role combines hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership and project management, covering projects in different sectors.
Key Responsibilities of the Lead Marine Engineer Lead and oversee installation, diagnostics, testing, and maintenance of marine systems and machinery.
Provide technical leadership on retrofits, new builds, and major overhauls.
Conduct performance assessments, system diagnostics, and root-cause failure investigations.
Review and sign off technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, classification standards, and company policies.
Support service leadership in managing budgets, schedules, and resources.
Mentor engineers and apprentices, contributing to team skill development.
Deliver technical support to our dealer and service network.
Qualifications Experience of Lead Marine Engineer Degree or equivalent qualification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
