Shorterm Group is supporting a leading aerospace manufacturer in Fareham, known for producing high-precision components for major commercial and aerospace programmes. Due to continued growth, we are looking for CNC Lathe Programmers as well as Setter/Operators with experience on Mazak lathes to join their skilled machining team.

About the Role

You will be involved in programming (where applicable), setting, and operating Mazak CNC lathes to produce complex, tight-tolerance aerospace components. Key Responsibilities

  • Programming Mazak CNC lathes (Programmer applicants)
  • Setting and operating Mazak CNC lathes to produce precision aerospace parts
  • Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
  • Carrying out in-process inspections using standard measuring equipment
  • Maintaining quality standards and ensuring components meet required tolerances
  • Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams
  • Supporting process improvements and efficient machining practices

Requirements

  • Experience as a CNC Lathe Programmer or CNC Setter/Operator
  • Proficient with Mazak (Mazatrol) controls
  • Background in aerospace manufacturing or other high-precision engineering
  • Strong understanding of machining practices and close-tolerance work
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and use measuring equipment confidently
