Job Title: TMC Facilities Team LeaderLocation: EdinburghSalary: £58409.55 per annum plus benefits Shifts: Monday to Friday Days only Responsible for: Maintenance, repair, and fault finding of fixed and mobile plant and infrastructure Supervision and monitoring of contractors and third-party stakeholdersJob FunctionTo oversee and perform maintenance, repair, and fault-finding activities across all infrastructure systems. Provide operational support to the maintenance and production teams on a shift basis to ensure train service delivery is maintained. Deputise for the Facilities Manager as required.Main ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Oversight Deputise for the Facilities Manager and act as the first point of contact for the Facilities Technicians. Ensure shift coverage is maintained; fill roster gaps and assign tasks as needed. Attend to complex faults and mentor the Facilities Team.Maintenance Planning & Delivery Assist in planning and executing both planned and reactive maintenance and minor works. Ensure availability of labour, materials, plant, and equipment to meet delivery standards and budget. Support the Facilities Planner with coordination of maintenance and external contractors.Contractor & Compliance Management Manage contractor induction processes and ensure risk assessments, method statements, and permits are in place. Supervise contractors on-site, including call-outs and issuance of relevant work permits (working at height, hot work, track possessions, etc.).Technical Duties Carry out routine preventative and corrective maintenance and fault finding (electrical and mechanical). Infrastructure responsibilities include:o Civil & Building Fabrico Fixed & Mobile Planto ICT & Security Systemso HVAC and Electrical Systemso Specialist Rail Equipment (Bogie Drop, Wheel Lathe, MRX, etc.)o Permanent Way Systems (Track, points, crossovers, 25kV OLE)o Soft Services (Pest control, vegetation, landscaping)o General Maintenance Tasks (Lighting, plumbing, painting, PAT testing, fire alarms)Data & Systems Record all inspections, maintenance, and repairs using SAP for audit and tracking.Health, Safety & Environmental Participate in winterisation/summerisation, including snow clearance and de-icing. Conduct building services and plant room checks to ensure operational infrastructure. Assist in waste management and ensure compliance with Hitachi procedures. Support Business Assurance with safety tours, inspections, and contractor audits.Additional Duties Operate forklifts and battery vehicles within depot as per procedures. Travel occasionally to support other TMC locations across the UK. Promote continuous improvement by sharing knowledge across sites.
