Carry out mods updates as part of the ETCS programme of works throughout the clients Freight Locomotive Fleet.

Dimensions of the Job

  • No direct financial authority but has vital influence on company expenditure through the effective maintenance of traction and rolling stock.
  • No staff responsibilities.

Principal Safety Accountabilities

Mainline Locomotives: Ensure that company engineering standards and procedures are applied and followed, under the post holder's area of control to ensure that the traction and rolling stock meet the provisions of statutory Railway Group Standards and Codes of Practice. The post holder has a general duty to ensure that there is no harm to employees, contractors, customers or the public.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Adhere to health and safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards.
  • Comply with all instructions, rules and regulations in force.
  • Maintain, service, fault find and repair locomotives in accordance with the approved maintenance plans as required by the local manager.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed on time and to required company standards.
