Job Title: Workshop Maintainer (FLT) Job Location: Derby Hourly Rate: £20.73 PAYE / £27.69 Umbrella Hours Per Week: 45hrs minimum, perm nights Duration: 6 months+ Start Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities: Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the workshop, maintenance bays, stores, offices, welfare facilities, and external areas. Clean workshop floors using industrial cleaning equipment Remove oils, grease, coolant, metal swarf, dust, and other contaminants from work areas. Keep walkways, emergency exits, access routes, and fire points free from obstructions. Assist engineers with workshop preparation for major maintenance activities. Report defects relating to workshop facilities, lifting equipment, lighting, compressed air systems, and infrastructure. Safely operate Counterbalance Trucks to transport materials, components, tooling, waste, and consumables. Load and unload deliveries safely. Move rolling stock components, equipment, pallets, and waste containers throughout the depot. Comply with all company Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures. Skills & Experience: Ideally previous experience working in an industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or rolling stock environment. Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT, NPORS, or equivalent). Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements within an industrial environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Good communication and organisational skills. Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties.
