Job title: Welder Job location: Derby Rate: £31.36ph Approx. £980+ (Take Home per week) Hours per week: 45 Start / Finish: 6:00 - 14:30 Duration: Ongoing (18 months minimum) Start date: ASAP Client Summary: A leading manufacturer of trains and rolling stock in Derby Position Summary: This role would require individuals to weld the body sides of new build Rail Vehicles (trains). This role will include all the weld preparation and final weld work on various new trains manufactured here in Derby. This includes all the metal prep, cleaning and completing the final weld to a very high standard with Aluminium. This role involves working on very large vehicles / surfaces, so individuals must be able to complete welds of a large nature and be able to complete a physical job. Roles can include: Coded Welding - MIG Process - Aluminium Material cutting and preparation Weld Tests Must be able to complete Aluminium Test bars to meet the requirements of the role 1. 6mm T Fillets 2. 8mm Butt Welds 3. 3mm Butt Welds Person Profile/Experience: * Able to complete all preparation work - material prep / grinding * Able to complete long weld runs * Must be able to attend a coding course - off site. * Ability to set and use welding equipment * Be able to work with aluminium (some people can have an allergic reaction to this material) Qualifications: * Previous welding experience essential (5 years or Apprentice Trained) ANY OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT IS PENDING A SUCCESSFUL DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING Contact Information: James Bell Email: (url removed)
