A major player in the UK light rail sector is seeking an experienced Civils Project Engineer to support ongoing infrastructure and asset management projects. The organisation is focused on delivering safe, reliable, and efficient transport services through innovative engineering practices and collaborative project delivery.
The Civils Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting the engineering team with civil engineering input across multiple infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Track and Civil Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that civil assets are maintained and developed in line with safety, operational, and performance standards. You will act as the technical interface between project and operations teams, reviewing work packages, assessing engineering changes, and supporting third-party works impacting civil infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Experience in a Civil Engineering, Project Engineer, or CRE role
- Strong knowledge of civils and earthworks (rail or light rail environment preferred)
- Ability to assess engineering designs, work plans, and asset impacts
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Understanding of regulations and standards for light rail systems
- Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent practical experience
- Working toward or holding Incorporated Engineer status
- Experience with asset protection, infrastructure renewals, and project documentation
