Logistics Despatch Co-ordinator - Days - 37hrs per week 07.30 - 16.00 M-TH, 07.30 - 12.30 FR. Overtime available: Saturday time and a half, Sunday - Double time.
Job description:
- Working within the Inbound Logistics Despatch team to support OE Logistics team on daily Despatch Co-ordination activity.
- Co-ordinate material flow through Logistics stores, Packing, Despatch & Customs processes through to Despatch/delivery to external Customer & Sister sites.
- Liaise with Logistics 3rd Party freight & customs providers, & Client Logistics teams, Inspection and certification personnel.
- Consolidate loads to create Van & Artic trailer consignments to maximise vehicle load fill and minimise number of despatches.
- Process all shipments through SAP where possible but utilising Manual shipment process where necessary.
- Manage & sort deliveries inbound.
- Support Inspection team in packing activity.
- Log all shipments in transit into system.
- Liaise with Freight forwarders, Transportation suppliers and drivers as required.
- Act as initial focal for any Despatch/Shipping related queries.
- Flexible working to support other logistics functions - including Military and Gear despatches where needed.
- Support Out of normal hours despatches where possible to support Customer need.
Candidate skills & requirements:
- Technical Competencies:
- Business process knowledge, in particular proven experience in Logistics and an understanding of Assembly Production principles.
- Inventory/Warehouse/Logistics Management background preferred.
- Analytical and decision-making.
- Continuous improvement processes and techniques.
- Proficient in the use of SAP - minimum knowledge of order picking & shipping.
- Proficient in the use of office systems - Outlook, Word & Excel.
- Literacy & numeric aptitude is essential.
- Sound understanding of Health and Safety i.e. Manual Handling.

- A team player who can develop a strong rapport with individuals.
- Must be a good communicator, flexible and adaptive in approach.
- Should be resilient and tenacious in style and approach - process accuracy is crucial.
