Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-4.30pm, Friday 8am-1pm - immediate starts.
Pay rate: Dependent on experience
Our engineering client in Barton Under Needwood is recruiting an experienced Stores Operative for an initial 6-month contract.
Requirements:
- Valid, in-date Reach Truck and Counterbalance licences
- Bendi Truck and VNA licences essential
- Computer literate (Oracle experience desirable)
- RF scanner experience essential
- Experience with physical inventory and cycle counts
- Own transport strongly recommended due to site location
The role:
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the stores function. Duties include receiving goods, checking for damage or shortages, moving and storing stock (manually and via FLT), order picking, booking goods in and out, and despatching parts to customers. All stock movements and paperwork are managed through the Oracle system.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurate stock records, including quantity and location
- Safe and correct storage of materials
- Efficient stock movements, both physically and within Oracle
- Maintaining and monitoring inventory accuracy, escalating discrepancies where required
- Carrying out stock audits in line with company policy
- Accurate receipt, checking and location of goods
- Ensuring goods are shipped on time and correctly labelled
- High standards of housekeeping at all times
- Control of customer assets through physical and system tracking
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Manual handling, lifting equipment use, picking and kitting
- Liaison with suppliers where documentation issues arise
