Shorterm Group are proud to be supporting a rapidly growing aerospace engineering company in their search for an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer & NPI Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the launch of new aerospace components, driving process excellence and ensuring robust product introduction.
The Role: You will lead the full New Product Introduction (NPI) process from RFQ through to production readiness, ensuring all projects meet customer, regulatory, and quality expectations. Working closely with CNC Programmers, production teams, and suppliers, you'll optimise processes, resolve technical challenges, and support continuous improvement across the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the entire NPI process.
- Apply APQP methodologies to identify risks and ensure smooth product launch.
- Develop, refine, and sustain manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
- Support engineering change activities and non-conformance investigations.
- Collaborate across Engineering, CNC, Production, and Supply Chain to improve quality, efficiency, and cost.
- Produce and maintain process documentation, including routings and work instructions.
- Provide technical guidance and training to production teams.
- Act as deputy to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager when required.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and AS9100 / ISO 9001 systems.
- Proven experience in APQP, FMEA, and process improvement.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and hands-on engineering capability.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and lean/5S principles.
Desirable:
- Aerospace industry experience.
- CAD/CAM knowledge.
- 3+ years NPI management experience.
