The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a busy and professional workshop team in Portbury. Working under the guidance of the Workshop Manager and Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are prepared and maintained to the highest standards for customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking to join a well-established organisation offering either a permanent position or a temporary-to-permanent route.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on a variety of vehicles.
  • Undertake tyre fitting and replacement duties.
  • Complete road tests, ramp tests and vehicle inspections as required.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs in line with approved methods and manufacturer standards.
  • Perform electrical diagnostics when required.
  • Complete warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently and within agreed timescales.
  • Accurately complete all relevant documentation and job records.
  • Support general workshop activities as required.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior technicians when needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or similar.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent) - essential.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Passion for the automotive industry and pride in delivering work to the highest standards.
  • Willingness to support and share knowledge with less experienced team members.
