Shorterm Group are currently working with a leading precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CMM Programmer / Inspector to join their growing Quality team in Andover. This is an exciting opportunity to join a modern, forward-thinking manufacturing business supplying high-specification components into industries such as automotive, motorsport, defence, and medical.
The Role
As a CMM Programmer, you will play a key role in ensuring that complex precision-engineered components meet exacting quality standards. You'll be responsible for programming and running CMM equipment, supporting production, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming and operating CMM machines using PC-DMIS
- Inspecting high-precision machined components
- Creating, editing, and optimising CMM programmes
- Interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
- Carrying out first-off, in-process, and final inspections
- Completing detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Using manual inspection equipment (micrometres, verniers, gauges, height gauges)
- Supporting root cause analysis and quality improvements
- Working cross-functionally with Production and Engineering teams
- Maintaining a clean and organised inspection environment
