Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support the installation, servicing, and maintenance of marine electronic systems across a diverse fleet of customer vessels. This is a home-based, remote role requiring regular travel within the UK and occasional overseas assignments. You will work on a wide range of marine and offshore platforms, delivering high-quality technical support both onboard vessels and within workshop environments.
Key Responsibilities of Field Service Engineer
- Service, repair, and maintain marine electronic equipment on customer vessels, offshore installations, and in workshop facilities.
- Work on a broad range of systems including:
- X S Band Radars
- VHF, MF/HF Radio Communications
- Satellite Communications (VSAT, SAT-C, Iridium)
- GPS Navigation Systems
- ECDIS
- Voyage Data Recorders (VDR)
- Carry out vessel surveys and inspections, including Radio Surveys and VDR Annual Performance Tests (training provided where required).
- Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Work outdoors and at height when required, adhering to all safety procedures.
- Provide technical support during occasional work on customer vessels.
