Shortbread House is looking for an Administrator to join its small, family-run business.
The ideal candidate will be bright, articulate, and highly organised, with excellent written English for professional email communication and strong numeracy skills. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, along with a confident telephone manner and excellent IT skills.
The successful applicant will enjoy working as part of a small team, be comfortable taking on a variety of responsibilities, and thrive in a busy, open-plan office environment.
Experience updating websites and managing products on Amazon would be advantageous, so candidates with strong IT and online marketing skills are particularly encouraged to apply.
A conscientious, reliable, and proactive approach to work is essential.

Responsibilities:
- To assist with the day-to-day general administrative duties
- Answering the telephone and taking customer orders
- Ensuring all orders are accurately entered into the system and managed through to fulfilment
- Preparing invoices and customer documents for orders
- Booking couriers and pallet collections
- Replying to emails within a shared mailbox, managing enquiries from potential new customers and suppliers
- Updating and managing the Shortbread House of Edinburgh websites and online shop
- Managing and building sales through Amazon
Qualifications/experience:
- Proven experience in an administrative role
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Some previous experience on Sage would be an advantage
- Ability to learn new software programs quickly
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

The role is full time (37.5 hrs per week), Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Salary subject to prior experience.
