Purpose Of Job: Industrial Engineering determines and applies the most efficient and cost-effective methods for industrial production within the organisation. They design systems that integrate material, equipment, information, and people in overall production processes.
Principal accountabilities:
- Carry out varied and responsible tasks in connection with Industrial Engineering activities.
- Independently evaluate, select and apply suitable industrial engineering techniques to help solve problems of a wide-ranging nature.
- Communicate information effectively.
- Develop new approaches to problems encountered.
- Liaise positively and effectively with customers both internally and externally.
- Develop new approaches to Industrial Engineering solutions.
- Eliminate or reduce waste in production and related processes.
- Develop methods that will be used to accomplish all of the tasks involved in production, including devising systems for quality control, distribution, and inventory.
- Determine the functions and responsibilities of workers and devise and implement evaluation procedures; recommend methods for improving employee efficiency.
- Carry out Method studies on shop floor production activities to help measure performance and assess standard production times/process improvements.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that sufficient detail is provided on the application form to demonstrate how the applicant meets essential job criteria, as this alone will be used for vetting purposes. Candidates must:
- Possess a minimum of an HNC in Engineering together with a minimum of 3 years experience in an Industrial Engineering environment.
- Be articulate and able to communicate information clearly and concisely.
- Be able to work as part of a team both at site and group level.
- Have a working knowledge of our products and production techniques.
- Have the ability to demonstrate application of knowledge and experience within an Engineering Function / Department.
- Be extremely computer literate.
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems.
- Be a self-starter and demonstrate high levels of motivation.
Please Note: Local applicants based in Northern Ireland will be considered prior to considering applicants from other Spirit sites. At the closing date of this advertisement all applicants must have held their current grade for a minimum of 12 months on a current and continuous basis. Additionally, at the closing date, all candidates must have at least 2 years current and continuous employment or assignment with the company to be considered.
