Radwinter CofE Primary School - Part time (before and/or after school clubs)

Are you friendly, reliable and passionate about helping children feel safe, happy and engaged beyond the school day? Join our warm, committed team at Radwinter CofE Primary School and make a real difference to children's wellbeing and enrichment in a caring village school where every child is known and valued.

About our school

Radwinter CofE Primary School is a small, rural Voluntary Aided Church of England school serving Radwinter and nearby villages. Our Christian vision - "Growing and learning together to embrace life in all its fullness" (John 10:10) - underpins everything we do. We are proud of our inclusive culture: OFSTED described our support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities as "impressive". Pupils say, "You'll never be lonely here. It doesn't matter what you look like. You can believe in anything you want. Everyone is accepted." We are a half‑form entry school currently organised into five classes. We value high quality teaching, strong pastoral care, memorable learning experiences and close links with our local church and community. Our school improvement priorities this year focus on consistency and quality across the curriculum, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and strengthening leadership and safeguarding.

About the role

As a Wraparound Assistant you will work as part of a friendly team to supervise children in our before and/or after school clubs. This is a practical, rewarding role where you will:

  • Supervise and keep children safe during club sessions, promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Prepare, serve and supervise snacks/meals and support children with eating when needed.
  • Plan and organise a range of enjoyable, age‑appropriate activities that support learning and play.
  • Maintain registers, tidy resources and ensure smooth transitions between clubs, school and home.
  • Provide pastoral care and routine guidance; where needed, support children with homework.
  • Record basic first aid, behaviour notes and any concerns, and report safeguarding matters promptly to senior staff.

This role is ideal if you enjoy working with primary‑aged children and want to support their social development, play and wellbeing outside the classroom.

About you - the qualities we value

We are looking for someone who:

  • Cares genuinely about children's safety, happiness and inclusion.
  • Communicates clearly and builds warm, respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Can follow routines and school policies (including behaviour and safeguarding) and use initiative when supervising groups.
  • Has basic literacy, numeracy and confidence using everyday school equipment.
  • Is prepared to contribute to an inclusive learning environment and support children with additional needs.
  • Is reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a small team.

Experience working with children is desirable but not essential - we welcome applicants who are enthusiastic, committed and eager to learn. Training and induction will be provided.

What we offer

  • A welcoming, supportive and values‑driven school community where staff wellbeing matters.
  • Opportunities for professional development linked to our school priorities (including safeguarding, behaviour management and inclusive practice).
  • The chance to make a visible impact on children's daily experiences and the life of a small village school.
  • A friendly team and strong leadership with clear school improvement plans and a commitment to inclusive practice.
