Newport Primary School are looking to appoint an outstanding teaching assistant with midday supervisor duties to join our team.

Applications are invited from Teaching Assistants who

· Wish to make a difference to children\’s learning

· Have 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade 9 to 4 (A* to C) including English and Maths

· Are able to assist children on an individual basis but also work as a member of the team

· Have excellent communication skills, with children, colleagues and parents

· Can support inclusion in the classroom, ensuring all children feel involved with all tasks and activities

· Under the direction of the teacher, support the school curriculum, including literacy and maths

· Has an understanding of SEND and behaviour needs, and be familiar with Trauma Perceptive Practice

You will need to be:

· Positive and enthusiastic

· Calm and flexible in your approach to the role

· Punctual, reliable, resilient and able to take initiative

· Able to work as part of a team

· Able to demonstrate a good standard of written and spoken English

· Committed to the developmental journey Newport Primary School is on to be a \’Good\’ school

· Willing to undertake professional development to improve own practice
