Lift New Rickstones is graded \’Good\’ (November 2023) and has a state of the art building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 8 years the academy has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The academy is a popular choice in the local area, is oversubscribed, and has added another new building to meet this demand.

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and committed Teacher of Performing Arts to join our established department.
The Drama department has a long standing history of excellent outcomes at KS4. We currently offer the BTEC Tech Award in Performing Arts – Acting, however the successful candidate would have the opportunity to review, and potentially change, the course). We have a purpose built Drama studio and theatre space, both with brand new lighting and sound systems. Musical theatre Club is very popular and we collaborate with the Music department to perform a showcase at the end of the Winter and Summer terms. There is a real desire to put on a whole school show and a number of staff keen to support with this. Drama is well supported within the school and is taught as a discrete subject throughout Key Stage 3. Our aim is to introduce students to Drama as a discrete subject and develop students\’ appreciation and understanding of the place of theatre within our culture and history. Students develop skills in creating, rehearsing, performing and evaluating scripted and improvised drama which all lead to improved confidence, communication, team work, resilience, and independence.
