Lift New Rickstones is graded \’Good\’ (November 2023) and has a state of the art building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 8 years the academy has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The academy is a popular choice in the local area, is oversubscribed, and has added another new building to meet this demand.

Development is a priority with an extensive and successful CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programme to further develop our excellent staff.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and committed Teacher of Humanities to join our established department.

The Humanities curriculum at our school brings together History, Religious Studies and Geography, each led and managed by subject specialists. We have a well established KS3 curriculum and exemplary resources for all staff to use and adapt. At GCSE we follow the AQA specification offering History, Geography and Religious Studies pathways. Students benefit from a rich programme of enrichment, including local and international trips that build cultural capital and bring learning to life, such as visits to Berlin, Krakow, and Prague (including Auschwitz), as well as a residential in Wales where KS4 students climb Mt Snowdon to experience physical geography first-hand. The department is housed in a newly built building with fantastic facilities, including a dedicated staff room, specialist Humanities classrooms, and brand-new Food Technology spaces.
