Overview
Are you passionate about swimming and dedicated to helping young learners develop their skills in the water? Riverside Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic, professional Swimming Teacher to join our vibrant team and deliver high-quality swimming lessons to primary school students in the school\’s own pool. Swimming lessons take place during the Summer and Autumn terms.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging swimming lessons to children aged 4-11 years.
- Provide clear and effective instruction, focusing on safety and technique.
- Encourage and motivate students of all abilities to reach their full potential.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment both in and around the pool.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students at all times during lessons.
Qualifications
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent is essential.
- Swimming Teacher Qualification (e.g., STA Level 2, Swim England Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming).
- Previous experience teaching swimming to children in a school or similar setting is highly desirable.
- A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for teaching and working with children.
- Experience with children with additional learning needs or disabilities is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Riverside Primary School, situated 500m from the River Crouch, opened in September 2010 when the Infant and Junior schools amalgamated. We are very proud to be an integral part of the village of Hullbridge, building and enjoying strong links with other schools, local businesses and members of our local community.
