About the role
We are looking to recruit an experienced teacher with experience of teaching children with SEND across all schools within Portico Academy Trust. Initially based at Hamstel school site, the post holder will be expected to work across all schools in the Trust.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach groups of children with SEND needs to support their knowledge and understanding of the core subjects, including phonics.
- Conduct key SEND assessments to support the SENDCo.
- Maintain, order and develop resources pertaining to SEND for staff and pupils.
- Support teachers with the writing of ISP plans, including EAL plans across the school, and quality assure those plans.
- Provide support and guidance to teaching staff around strategies for pupils with SEND, including team‑teaching where applicable.
- Liaise with key agencies including parents around all areas of SEND.
- Cover classes when needed.
