We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient Science Technician to join the Science team. The department is very well resourced and it has a suite of specialist classrooms with a range of specialist equipment and two large prep rooms.
Relevant laboratory experience, preferably within a school environment is desirable along with good all round knowledge of a working lab, including Health & Safety awareness.
Duties will include:
- To ensure the efficient preparation and organisation of equipment for lessons as required
- To clean equipment and laboratories after each lesson and any chemical spillage when they occur, clearing labs in preparation for the following lesson
- To ensure safe storage and use of laboratory equipment and space
- Checking laboratories are in a safe and clean condition
- Notify Premises Manager of Health & Safety cleaning issues
- Ordering new apparatus and chemicals
- To ensure safe storage of equipment
- To liaise with other departments/schools re use of additional specialist equipment
- To maintain plants and greenhouse

The inspection judged safeguarding to be effective, Ofsted referenced that students are safe, and adults had their best interests at the forefront of their thinking.
