St John's is a co‐educational Independent School for pupils aged 2–16 years. We are seeking an experienced Head of Department for Maths and Statistics to join our supportive department.

Responsibilities

  • Teach GCSE Maths and Statistics to KS3 and KS4 pupils, including Foundation and Higher tiers.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Assess pupils' progress and provide targeted support.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
  • Participate in the extra‐curricular programme and school initiatives.
  • Support safeguarding and welfare policies.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher with QTS and an undergraduate degree in Maths, Statistics or a related subject.
  • Extensive experience teaching KS3 and KS4.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and classroom practice.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate pupils and staff.
  • High expectations of child behaviour and achievement.
  • Inclusive practice with a flexible approach to support all children.
