At the King Edmund School, we are in a bold new chapter. With our new school building that opened in September 2025, an aspirational student body, and a new Headteacher at the helm, we are seeking to appoint a full-time Teacher of Science from either Easter or September 2026. We are determined to become the school of choice in Essex—a place where every young person is challenged, supported, and inspired to thrive.
The Role
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and energetic Teacher of Science. Applicants should be capable of demonstrating outstanding practice and have a passion for Science. The successful candidate will be able to deliver high quality and engaging lessons to students of all abilities in key stages 3, 4 and 5 that will challenge students and inspire progression, as well as being a positive role model to students. We are flexible on subject specialism.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree, or equivalent experience, with a teaching qualification
- Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11-18 age range, with first class classroom management skills
- The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to further the department
- Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills
- A firm understanding of key national and educational policies and issues
- The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds
- A clear commitment to improving your own and others' performance through effective continuous professional development
