Are you passionate about technology and keen to support the next generation of engineers, designers, and makers? The King Edmund School is seeking a dedicated and proactive Technology Technician (Hard Materials) to join our supportive Design & Technology team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and preparing workshop machinery and tools (saws, lathes, drills, CNC router, etc.)
- Setting up materials and resources for lessons
- Supporting CAD/CAM and woodworking/metalwork processes
- Ensuring safe storage and disposal of materials
- Assisting with classroom demonstrations, student supervision, repairs and fabrication
- Helping to deliver after-school clubs and DT enrichment activities
The school offers an extensive support programme, including mentor/buddy system, Initial Teacher Training support for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) or for those seeking Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS), a system of twilight training sessions, as well as excellent development opportunities.
