We are looking for a fun, warm, enthusiastic and proactive playworker to join our After School Club team at de Vere Primary School. This role is all about making the end of the school day fun, safe, and relaxing for our children. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys engaging with children, can organise fun activities, and who naturally builds positive, trusting relationships with both pupils and parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and interact with children in a positive and encouraging way.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils and help promote positive behaviour and school values.
- Establish friendly and professional relationships with parents and carers, providing regular, reassuring communication at pick-up time.
- Prepare and serve light snacks, ensuring food hygiene standards are followed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised space at all times.
- Work collaboratively with other After School Club staff and the wider school team.
- Follow school safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene policies at all times.
- Record attendance and report any concerns to the appropriate staff member promptly.
We are looking for someone who
- Has experience working with children (in a school, childcare, or similar setting)
- Is approachable, caring, and enthusiastic
- Can communicate effectively with both children and adults
- Is reliable and able to work as part of a team
- Holds or is willing to work towards a relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)
