Personal, Social & Health Education Teacher
Position Start Date: 01/01/2026 Contract Type: Part-time Contract Term: Permanent
Application Close: 12/10/2025 Midnight Date of Interviews: 14th & 15th October 2025
Would you like to be part of a team that provides hope for the future, healing and wholeness, acceptance as part of a nurturing community and opportunities for achievement for young people who have experienced trauma, rejection and exclusion, or who have not had their needs met in mainstream school? Do you want a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to young people?
We are looking for a committed, resilient and skilled part time teacher of PSHE, Careers and Health & Social Care, who can deliver this KS4 curriculum up to BTEC Level 2 to students with a range of SEND and SEMH needs, who thrive through positive relationships and who learn differently. This role includes the delivery of PSHE to all students and Health & Social Care as an option for both enrichment and accreditation.
This person must care for young people and be passionate about supporting them to learn, make progress and achieve the best outcomes possible. The role requires the ability to plan bespoke programmes of learning, to support rapid catch-up and progress, and contribute to the effective and engaging learning environment for young people aged 14-16, with a range of complex educational and SEND needs, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, PDA and Anxiety Disorders.
Open Box Education Centre is a small independent Alternative Provision School providing a KS4 curriculum for students aged 14-16 with unmet or undiagnosed trauma, recognised special education needs or for whom a mainstream school placement has not been possible or appropriate. Our small team of dedicated, caring and professional staff provide full-time education and therapeutic services for up to 16 students to help them grow in confidence, trust and self-esteem and experience success in their last years of secondary school.
What we can offer you:
- A significant role as the school\โs PSHE, RSE, Careers and Health & Social Care teacher in a caring, professional and collaborative team of 15 staff members who are dedicated to the success and welfare of our small cohort of KS4 students.
- Experience in a unique school that has achieved Trauma Informed School status, Attachment Aware status and Autism Specialist accreditation
- A bespoke setting that offers staff the benefits of very small class sizes, a relatively short timetabled day, a shorter academic year, reduced administration and marking, and additional support, advice and guidance associated with working in a small, experienced and trained team.
- The chance to be part of a successful Independent School that is dedicated to supporting young people who have experienced trauma, rejection and exclusion by providing opportunities for achievement, acceptance as part of a community and hope for the future.
- A vital role in a caring, professional and collaborative small team of staff who are dedicated and committed to the success and welfare of all students.
- A small, busy, friendly, supportive and caring working environment.
