Level 3 Nursery Practitioner

Scale 4 Points 8-9

£24,705 per annum

Starting September 2026

34.5 hours per week x 51.5 paid weeks per year (45 working weeks per year plus paid holiday entitlement)

Mondays and Tuesdays 9am to 3.30pm

Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9am to 5pm

We are recruiting for an experienced and qualified Nursery Assistant for our beautiful modern purpose built‑nursery at St Clare's Catholic Primary School. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a wonderfully resourced, high‑quality setting. You will also benefit from being eligible to join the Essex Pension Fund.

Responsibilities

  • To assist with the planning of the curriculum;
  • To help to set up the playroom for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session;
  • To act as a key worker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met;
  • To advise the nursery manager of any concerns, e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary;
  • To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation;
  • To attend staff meetings;
  • To attend in‑service training courses and meetings as required;

The nursery, which opened in September 2021, caters for children aged 2‑4. We are offering wrap‑around care with a breakfast club and after‑school club.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
