Chalkwell Hall Junior School is a happy, high achieving school with well-behaved children and friendly staff. We are looking to appoint a Breakfast and After School Assistant to assist with caring for the children who attend our popular Conkers Club. Do you have a Childcare qualification and experience working with children? If so, we want to hear from you.
The hours will be 3pm - 5.45pm on a Monday, 7.30am to 8.30am on a Tuesday and 7.30am to 8.30am on a Thursday, term time only. Total of 4 hours 45 minutes per week.
Responsibilities- Delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
- Providing comprehensive care for the children.
- Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
- Administering first aid when necessary.
- Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
- Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
- Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
- Working within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.
- Experience of working with 3 to 11 year olds.
- Understanding the varied needs of children and their families.
- Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care.
- Understanding the issues of equal opportunities.
- Provide and facilitate safe and creative play.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Sound judgement and common sense.
- Experience of working within a play-based setting.
- Appropriate child protection training.
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
