Location: Quilters Infants and Junior School

Working Hours: Monday - Friday term time only, 16.25 hrs per week, 12pm-3.15pm

Salary: Scale 3 (Pt 5 - 6) (approx £13.22 per hour)

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated LSA to support a child with an ECHP on a 1:1 basis. You would join a highly professional team who have high expectations of every child and include all children in all aspects of school life.

You will need to be understanding, patient and calm, whilst needing to be flexible, work well as part of a team and also able to act on your own initiative. The role will include classroom 1:1 support, 1:1 lunchtime support and general Midday Assistant support.

You will work in partnership with class teachers and the SENCO, to work to support codes of practice, school policies and procedures.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Experience of supporting children on a 1:1 basis
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Is able to demonstrate patience, calmness and flexibility at all times
  • A commitment to high achievement from pupils and themselves
  • Excellent organisation and inter-personal skills
  • Flexibility
  • The ability to use their own initiative
  • Willing to undertake training and support individual needs

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory medical checks, references, social media checks and enhanced DBS clearance.

Further Information:

Working weeks per year: 38 weeks

Holiday entitlement: Part time posts. The successful candidate will work during each week of term time excluding non-pupil days. Holiday will be deemed to be taken during school closure periods. There is no entitlement to take holiday during term time.

Pay: This post is paid on Pay Scale 3. Employees are paid monthly in twelve equal months per year.

Probation: All individuals will be required to satisfactorily complete a six-month probationary period. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
