The Brickfields Trust is seeking an ambitious, proactive and highly organised Caretaker to oversee the day‑to‑day management, safety and presentation of Barling Magna Primary Academy and Great Wakering Primary Academy. Working across two closely located sites, you will play a key role in ensuring our schools remain safe, welcoming and well‑maintained environments for pupils, staff and visitors.

About the Role

  • You will be responsible for the general repairs, maintenance and upkeep of both school sites, ensuring high standards at all times.
  • This is a hands‑on role requiring someone with an eye for detail, the ability to prioritise effectively, and the confidence to support the school's leadership team in managing health & safety compliance and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • General repairs & maintenance across both school sites
  • Health & Safety compliance including statutory checks, record‑keeping and safe working practices
  • Coordinating external contractors
  • Ensuring both schools are clean, secure and well‑presented
  • Monitoring and maintaining site security, access and safeguarding standards
  • Prioritising workload across two sites and responding to issues promptly
  • Supporting the Trust with planned maintenance and improvement projects

  • Competent in general repairs and practical problem‑solving
  • Experienced in H&S compliance and confident with statutory responsibilities
  • Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills
