Role Overview
As Orsett Heath Academy continues to grow, we are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (Specialist) to join our SEND department. The core purpose of the role is to assist the support and development of students throughout the Academy. The role may also involve supporting pupils with learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties, including intimate care and toileting needs if required.
Responsibilities
The role is for 26 hours, 40 minutes per week, Monday to Friday, 8:35am to 2:50pm, term time plus INSET days. Key duties include:
- Assist pupils in the support and development of academic, social, and personal skills.
- Support pupils with learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties, including intimate care and toileting needs when required.
- Collaborate with class teachers to support planning, preparation, and assessment activities.
- Provide individual support to pupils, small groups, or whole classes to foster progress.
Qualifications
We are looking for:

- Excellent team worker able to work closely with class teachers and support them with planning, preparation, and assessment activities.
- A person with the ability to support individual pupils, groups, or whole classes to help them make excellent progress.
