St John's is a co‑educational Independent School for pupils aged 2–16 years. We are seeking an experienced Head of Department for Maths and Statistics to join our supportive department.
Responsibilities
- Teach GCSE Maths and Statistics to KS3 and KS4 pupils, including Foundation and Higher tiers.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons.
- Assess pupils’ progress and provide targeted support.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
- Participate in the extra‑curricular programme and school initiatives.
- Support safeguarding and welfare policies.
Qualifications
- Qualified teacher with QTS and an undergraduate degree in Maths, Statistics or a related subject.
- Extensive experience teaching KS3 and KS4.
- Excellent subject knowledge and classroom practice.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate pupils and staff.
- High expectations of child behaviour and achievement.
- Inclusive practice with a flexible approach to support all children.
