To provide high-quality care and early years education for children aged 0-5 years, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment. The Early Years Educator will work as part of a team to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and build strong partnerships with parents and carers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for all children
- Support children's emotional, physical, and social development
- Act as a key person for a group of children, building secure attachments
- Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress
- Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage children's independence and curiosity through play
- Support children with additional needs, working with SENCO where required
- Promote positive behaviour using consistent strategies
- Follow all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
- Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children at all times
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised setting
- Administer first aid where required (if qualified)
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards

Person Specification
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Experience working with young children (in a nursery or similar setting)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Experience as a key person
- Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN)
- Food hygiene certificate
- Allergy Awareness certificate
