St. George's Church of England Primary School is seeking a reliable, hardworking, proactive and friendly Site Manager / Caretaker to join our team.
Working hours: 6.30 - 9.00am Monday - Friday (12.5 hours per week). There may be some flexibility on the arrangement of these hours.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors.
Responsibilities:- Unlocking and securing the school premises and ensuring the building and site are safe each day
- Ensuring cleaning and hygiene supplies are well stocked
- Completing a range of weekly, monthly and quarterly health and safety checks, with accurate record keeping
- Carrying out minor and general maintenance tasks around the site
- Liaising with contract cleaners and completing some cleaning responsibilities
- Undertaking basic grounds maintenance, including weeding and leaf collection
- Supporting with deep cleaning tasks during school holidays (e.g. window cleaning, carpet washing)
- Managing bin and recycling collections
- Adhering to health and safety procedures and safe working practices at all times
It would be desirable if the candidate has knowledge of Health and Safety, Legionella awareness, working at height training and Asbestos awareness. The successful candidate will be dependable, practical and able to take initiative, with a commitment to ensuring the school is safe, well cared for, and compliant with all statutory requirements.
Following safer recruitment procedures, an appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, medical checks and enhanced DBS clearance. In accordance with safeguarding commitments, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment safeguarding checks. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
