Working closely with the Head of Science, you will ensure our laboratories are safe, well-resourced and ready to deliver an outstanding curriculum every day.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will manage budgets, oversee stock and ordering, line manage a small team, and play a key part in open evenings and activities week. You'll be confident enough to contribute ideas alongside teaching staff and proactive enough to resolve problems before they reach your Head of Science.

Day to day, you will prepare equipment and materials for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, ensuring laboratories are safe, organised and fully equipped for teaching across KS3 and KS4. You will support teachers during practical activities, maintain equipment to a high standard, and keep stock levels well managed.

To succeed in this role you will need to be confident leading, managing and developing a small team, with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be flexible, calm under pressure and able to use your own initiative. Knowledge of COSHH and CLEAPSS is desirable but not essential.

  • Preparing and clearing practical equipment
  • Tracking the departmental budget and completing end-of-year orders

We pride ourselves on being a school that is kind and has heart. Our mission is to build knowledge and grow character, underpinned by our strong values of aspire, respect and endeavour.

We believe in gimmick free teaching and learning, placing the teacher as the expert in the classroom. Sustainable academic achievement comes from students developing the habits of success from Year 7 and building on these each year.

Equally important to our ethos is growing character, with a focus on doing the right thing when no one is looking. We have a Tutor Group Character Curriculum and Elective Programme, offering a range of after school clubs and societies.

We know that ensuring high standards of behaviour is key to a successful school, with clear processes in place to ensure disruption free classrooms. Senior Leaders take the lead on behaviour and are visible during transitions and lessons.

Staff receive high quality coaching and training, with a focus on professional growth. We promote the well-being of all staff, providing considerable support for their workload.
