About the Role
Join Compass Community as an Education Business Support Officer. Are you a highly organised individual with a passion for supporting education? Compass Community is seeking a dedicated School Operations Officer to ensure the smooth running of our school’s non‑teaching operations. This pivotal role sits between office staff and senior leadership, where you’ll make a real difference to staff, pupils, and families.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the school office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front‑of‑house service.
- Manage school systems and databases, including pupil records, attendance, and safeguarding.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher and wider school team.
- Coordinate maintenance, health and safety checks, and resource orders.
- Support statutory data submissions and compliance processes.
- Act as the first point of contact for parents and carers, ensuring timely and professional communication.
- Organise school meetings and events, including agendas and minute‑taking.
- Support with HR administration, admissions, and financial compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong administrative experience, ideally in education, social care, or a regulatory setting.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Highly organised, with outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
- Discreet, professional, and committed to confidentiality.
