St George's School seeks an Assistant Caretaker to support its site management service. The successful applicant will ensure that the site is secure, organised, clean, safe and well‑maintained. A practical position, this will involve completing planned tasks as well as reacting to issues as they arise. Training will be provided so that the postholder can deputise in the absence of the Site Manager.
Working hours may be lengthened in the event that cleaning duties require covering, or lettings require a presence on site. Provisional working hours will be 10:45 am to 4 pm (Monday to Thursday), 10:45 am to 6 pm (Friday) and include emergency call‑outs. Additional hours may be available in the event that cleaning capacity is low. Working weeks include term time, school closure periods and training days.
All appointments will be subject to a DBS clearance, medical checks and satisfactory references. St. George’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all persons at the school to actively share this commitment.
