The Hawthorns School opened its doors in January 2023 for children with autism and is now operating from a purpose‑built campus in the heart of Chelmsford. We are expanding our provision with a satellite campus, Hawthorns Connect, to serve additional pupils. The school offers a full‑time education focused on social communication, emotional regulation and relationship‑building, while delivering a broad balanced curriculum including literacy and numeracy. Pupils are aged 7‑16, all have an EHCP, and we provide ten residential places Monday to Thursday each week.

Responsibilities

The Sports Coach will plan and deliver inclusive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate physical education and sports programmes for pupils with autism working across both the main school and Hawthorns Connect.
