As an LSA at Glenwood School, you will be a member of a daring and dynamic team and work closely with a diverse team of education and health professionals. This is a challenging role which will be demanding in terms of taking on new ideas and ways of working. However, support will be there when you need it. Main purpose:
- Play a key role within a class team that works positively together towards shared aims and outcomes for the young people.
- Work under the direction of class teachers to support learners with severe needs and to further their learning in line with their personalised curriculum and Glenwood approaches to transformational learning.
- Work with individuals or small groups of learners following their individualised programmes across different settings within the school.
- Provide skilled support for learners with severe learning, communication, social and sensory and/or physical difficulties.
- Be active participants and contribute to class team discussions & professional meetings with a range of colleagues.
- Use your skills flexibly across the school in order to meet the needs and aims of all the young people as directed by leaders.

Salary and working pattern information:
- 27.75 hours per week Monday to Friday 9:00 to 3:15pm term time only (38 weeks) plus one Wednesday a month to 4:30pm (usually the first Wednesday of the month).
- Local Government pay scale 4 points 7-8 Actual salary £16,520 to £16,784 (Full time equivalent £26,403 to £26,824).
We have the right to close this role early once we have found suitable candidates. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
