Main Purpose of the Role

As a member of our teaching team, you will:

  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning across our Health and Social Care and Early Years department, engaging students from Level 1 to Level 4.
  • Support the academic and pastoral development of learners, ensuring they are ready to learn and thrive.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, and the wider life of the College.
  • Play an active role in fulfilling the College's mission: "To provide a transformative education that empowers learners and serves our community and employers."

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress.
  • Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to help every learner succeed.
  • Make effective use of digital platforms (e.g., Teams, Google Classroom) and emerging tools such as AI to enhance student learning and feedback.
  • Participate in curriculum development, open events, interviews, and student induction activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support continuous improvement.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety policies.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified to degree in relevant subject or similar.
  • An expert in their subject area, with a strong understanding of progression pathways and enrichment opportunities.
  • Enthusiastic about teaching, with effective strategies to support learners at Levels 1-3 (and Level 4 where appropriate).
  • Confident in using digital tools to engage learners and enhance teaching.
  • Able to balance academic rigor with encouragement and support, motivating students to achieve their full potential.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE/Cert Ed).
  • Professional or industry experience to enrich classroom teaching.
  • Experience in curriculum development, course leadership, or employer engagement.
