Role Overview

Do you want to make a real difference to the life chances of students and the communities we serve? If so, we are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our forward-thinking team. Experience is preferred, but training can be offered for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be capable of inspiring students through their involvement with pastoral support and have a firm belief in the potential of all students. You must be committed to providing a quality education and experience for all and will need to excel in your classroom practice.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, delivering and tracking high quality interventions under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Offering functional, literacy and numeracy skills in a range of settings including the classroom.
  • Working in partnership with the SENCO and class teachers to contribute to the school's teaching and learning programme, raise student aspirations, challenge learning and engage students in their own learning.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills supported by relevant qualifications.
  • Confidence in dealing with a wide range of people.
  • Understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience.
