At The Edith Borthwick School, we are proud to provide a specialist, nurturing and ambitious education for children and young people with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. Our dedicated staff team works together to ensure every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.

We are looking to add to our team of teaching assistants. As a teaching assistant you will play a vital role in creating a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and supportive community where the needs of our pupils are always at the centre of what we do.

Previous school experience is not essential, although relevant experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs is always valuable. Equally, you may be looking for a new challenge, a career change, or an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

We want our pupils to be the very best they can be. Are you someone who can help us achieve that?

  • Are you someone who builds positive relationships and puts the needs of children and young people first?
  • Do you want to play a key role in helping pupils learn, communicate and become as independent as possible?
  • Do you believe in celebrating individual strengths and creating opportunities for everyone to succeed?
  • Are you a flexible, enthusiastic team player who enjoys finding solutions and embracing new challenges?
  • Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs?
  • Do you have an interest in, or experience of, supporting children and young people with SEND?

We value staff who are adaptable, eager to learn and committed to helping our pupils succeed. If you enjoy working as part of a team and can bring positivity, energy and a sense of humour to your role, we would love to hear from you.

At Edith Borthwick School, we are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience that enables every pupil to thrive, develop independence and prepare successfully for the future. We encourage prospective applicants to visit us and see first-hand the positive relationships, specialist expertise and welcoming environment that make our school such a special place to learn and work.

We expect all our Teaching Assistants to be flexible and willing to work with all ages. The needs of our students range from severe to complex needs.

We are looking for Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team and be part of our learning community. You are required for 16 hours per week, Monday, Thursday, and Friday 0910-15:00. Term time only plus 5 non-pupil days. Please note that this role is work across 3 classes.
