About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Outreach Teacher to join our Outreach provision to lead and deliver a broad and balanced KS2/KS3 curriculum to learners accessing the Outreach Provision. You will plan and deliver high‑quality teaching, assess progress accurately and ensure that every pupil receives a personalised programme of learning. The role involves teaching pupils with a range of SEMH needs, supporting their academic development, behaviour, wellbeing, and family engagement. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to raise standards and secure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
What You Will Do
- Deliver high‑quality teaching across a KS2/KS3 curriculum to learners with SEMH needs.
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate personalised learning programmes in line with the National Curriculum.
- Assess pupil progress accurately and provide clear reports to families, schools, and agencies.
- Develop strong relationships with families and external professionals to support holistic progress.
- Contribute to systematic pupil records, reviews, and case conferences.
- Support reintegration work, ensuring effective communication with mainstream and special schools.
- Use ICT effectively to support learning and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in training, performance management, staff meetings, and INSET.
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to the overall ethos and aims of Ramsden Hall Academy.
- Uphold safeguarding, equality, health & safety and data protection requirements at all times.
- Safely transport pupils as required as part of the role.
About You
- Holds QTS or QTLS.
- Has strong teaching experience at KS2 or KS3, with good or outstanding practice.
- Has experience working with pupils with SEMH or a wide range of special educational needs.
- Understands the statutory requirements for KS2/3 and has knowledge of core curriculum standards.
- Can deliver high‑quality teaching and learning and evaluate impact effectively.
- Has excellent communication skills and can work collaboratively with families and professionals.
- Is passionate about improving life chances for vulnerable pupils.
- Has strong behaviour‑management skills rooted in trauma‑informed practice.
- Has experience or knowledge of Trauma Perceptive Practice (TPP) (desirable).
- Is committed to professional development and reflective practice.
- Is reliable, organised, and able to prioritise effectively.
- Holds a full, clean driving licence; a minibus qualification is desirable, or a willingness to undertake training.
- Is willing and able to carry out driving duties using their own vehicle, with appropriate business insurance (mileage reimbursed at the current GOV.UK rate).

Information about the School
Ramsden Hall Academy is a Residential Special School for male students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) based in Ramsden Heath, Billericay, Essex. The Academy was rated 'Good' in its most recent Ofsted inspection and is part of the Parallel Learning Trust, a Multi Academy Trust and DfE approved sponsor. Our Residential provision has been awarded 'Outstanding' status by Ofsted. The Academy works with over 100 secondary-age and Year 6 male students who have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) for Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs offering a residential provision. The Academy aims to support all students with their specific needs and barriers to learning to enable them to reach their full potential both academically and in terms of managing their behaviour. This is achieved by providing high quality teaching and learning and by using assessment, engagement and developing educational programmes. The Academy works actively with students and their families to ensure positive outcomes for all. Focused attention is paid to the student's individual needs through an integrated therapeutic approach to the curriculum. The Academy works with families to put in place aspirational targets for all learners and always celebrate the achievements of students to reinforce their success and achievement. Any of the students demonstrating the skills and attainment required to successfully reintegrate into a mainstream school will be supported in the transition. Families will also receive support and guidance on how to best work with the school to help ensure their child is successful. The Academy aims for all students to enter further education, training or employment on exit from the Academy. Our site is both attractive and well equipped in all areas of the curriculum and is well resourced. The school is situated with 14 acres of land in Ramsden Heath, near Billericay.
