Job Summary
Shore Medical is seeking a Salaried GP to join the team at Wessex Road Surgery on a 12 month Fixed Term basis starting August 2026. The role focuses on providing personal medical services, managing a caseload and dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

3 days per week – 6 sessions (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract and additional enhanced services where appropriate for 200 patients per session. This includes tasks, letters, bloods, med 3, private medicals pertaining to your own list.
- Make yourself available to undertake surgery consultations, telephone consultations, and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, dealing with paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion as per the practice timetable.
- Record clear and contemporaneous computer-based consultation notes to agreed standards using Systm1.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
- Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

Shore Medical is a GP Super Partnership with 6 practices across Poole and Bournemouth, caring for 58,000 patients. The partnership offers a friendly and supportive team of more than 200 staff, including over 40 GPs, pharmacists, paramedics, nurses, mental health specialists and administrative staff. We support social activities such as summer and Christmas parties, running and paddle boarding groups.
The six practices are: Lilliput Surgery, Poole Road Medical Centre, Wessex Road Surgery, Heatherview Medical Centre, Fernside Surgery, Parkstone Tower Practice.

Person Specification
Experience - Essential
- Worked within a UK GP Practice
- Working in primary care in an area with significant health problems
- EPS prescribing
- Computer literate (Microsoft etc)
- Clinical systems
Qualifications - Essential
- GMC Registered
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- MRCGP
- Inclusion on the Performers List
- MPS/MDUS/MDDUS membership
- DBS Enhanced Check
