A bit about the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to lead the strategic planning, execution and performance of the event marketing campaigns for our retail shows.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a passion for driving successful audience engagement and brand growth.

Not afraid to get stuck in, you will be responsible for delivering on both revenue and visitor targets.

With a proven track record running campaigns across multiple channels, on time and within budget, you’ll lead by example to guide and develop your team to achieve their goals.

As part of your job, you’ll

  • Create and own Strategic Marketing Plans (SMPs) for our retail show, with support from the Ho M.
  • Develop and execute integrated event campaign strategies, including messaging, visuals, offers and incentives to deliver revenue and visitor targets.
  • Evolve individual brand value propositions to ensure relevancy to audience, aligning with overall event strategies and industry insights.
  • Deliver registration, visitor, and MQL (Marketing Qualified Lead) targets
  • Oversee the production and delivery of event marketing communications, including briefing internal teams and maintaining strict timelines (inc. emails, social, PPC, website, PR, partnerships and media).
  • Manage show websites, including content updates, optimisation and reporting. Working with our Digital Performance team to analyse results and implement enhancements
  • Handle PR for show deliverables, ensuring consistent brand voice and message alignment. To complement long-term brand plans and objectives.
  • Manage media partners and digital advertising for optimal reach and engagement.
  • Oversee contract agreements, ensuring mutual value and clear deliverables.
  • Build and maintain association and industry partnerships, ensuring plans are agreed, delivered, and reported on effectively.
  • Manage event campaign budgets, ensuring efficient and impactful spend to reach goals.

Maintain accurate budget trackers, promptly raise POs, and ensure invoices are processed on time.

  • Develop case studies, testimonials, and supporting communications, working closely with the content team to produce impactful assets.
  • Line manage two people, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture where customer obsession sits at the heart.
  • Report directly to the Head of Marketing on all marketing activity, strategy and KPI performance.
  • Support the Head of Marketing and Event Directors and contribute to the long-term portfolio strategy.

Here’s what we’re looking for from you

  • Proven marketing experience (Ideally in events, but not essential).
  • Proven team management skills as well as cross departmental project management.
  • Proven experience in testing, adapting and improving customer journeys across all marketing channels, alongside the setting of key metrics
  • Evidence of relationship building across industry partners
  • Experience in managing budgets, forecasting and setting budgets
  • The ability to be agile, changing strategies and tactics when needs to be changing markets and producing new reactive ad hoc campaigns.
  • Proven experience overseeing the management and performance of multiple marketing channels.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience managing a high workload across multiple channels and being able to prioritise and work at pace.
  • Experience in reporting, analytics and data interpretation.
  • To be the brand guardian for Spring Fair. Someone who lives and breathes the brand and is passionate about seeing it grow.
