About The Role
As a Solutions Architect on the Enterprise Accounts segment, you are a leading expert in Shopify for our largest and most strategic merchants. You specialize in onboarding the largest and fastest growing merchants with the highest amount of complexity to Shopify and help break down technical barriers to enable our sales, partners and merchant success teams to show how they can accelerate the growth of their business.
In this role, you will work directly with merchants and their technical teams to have solutions-focused discussions about the Shopify platform and provide resources and guidance to help them successfully launch with Shopify.
As a part of your day to day, you educate merchants on commerce best practices, consult on their ecommerce technology stack and objectives, and guide them on leveraging Shopify effectively. You advise on complex integrations, provide solutions for faster build times, and ensure long-term success on the platform.
General Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of 5-10 launch projects
- Be an expert generalist across the expanding Shopify platform and ecosystem; online store, Shopify Plus, B2B, Payments, Partner and App ecosystem, and more
- Consult with merchants on novel and complex shop functionality and business system integrations
- Ability to ask strong discovery questions during merchant engagements. In doing so, ability to recognize and close opportunities for paid consultations when highly complex merchant requirements are uncovered by using selling skills and platform knowledge.
- Work with the merchants’ development teams and operations teams to help design solutions for them on the platform. While you will not be responsible for building or implementing the solution, you will be acting as a trusted advisor and expert generalist during their build
- Build bi-directional relationships with a number of adjacent teams within Shopify including Operations, Production Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Risk & Legal, Product teams, and many more
- Maintain a results-oriented mindset, focusing on impactful outcomes over process.
- Prioritize ruthlessly and manage your time effectively to keep pace with our dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Shopify’s admin, settings, customization editor, and advanced features like metaobjects, first party apps, and Liquid templating
- Functional in at least one programming language (Javascript and React for full-stack development preferred)
- Proficient in Liquid templating, customizing sections/blocks, and developing custom Shopify themes
- Strong understanding of working with GraphQL queries, mutations, and objects.
- Passion for backend development with a willingness to explore languages such as Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript and their accompanying frameworks.
- Experience with eCommerce website development, including product and collections pages, checkout flows, navigation menus, and eCommerce funnel optimization.
- Strong technical aptitude with a consistent record of execution.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and reprioritize effectively.
- Superior verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
- A passion for continuous learning and skill development.
