Account Executive, New Business (United Kingdom, Sweden)
At Shopify, we have opportunities for motivated sales professionals to join as an Account Executive on our MM New Business teams. These teams focus on merchants with annual revenue up to $40M and may cover the UKI, the Benelux, and/or the Nordics. This position offers a path to grow your career within a company that values growth and advancement.
You will be tasked with creating and executing creative account strategies to generate new business opportunities for Shopify. You should be able to source your own sales opportunities and navigate large organizations with multiple stakeholders through the entire sales cycle. You may influence Shopify’s broader revenue organization through mentorship, methodologies, and strategy as we explore new ways to reach more merchants. You will strengthen partnerships internally and leverage those partnerships to transform our merchants’ businesses.
You’ll be doing things like:
- Understand the unique business goals, needs, and pains of prospects, helping them grow their business with Shopify products
- Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and target potential customers matching our target market
- Use your network, industry knowledge, and research techniques to generate high-quality leads
- Articulate and demonstrate our value proposition, create detailed mutual plans, and generate excitement among prospects
- Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate new markets, drive revenue growth, and achieve aggressive sales targets
- Source, build, and manage your sales pipeline and forecast your business
- Engage with C-level executives
- Collaborate on projects to improve internal processes (mentorship, sales methodologies, tooling)

- Experience in a new business closing sales role with a track record of acquiring new business and exceeding targets
- Passion for hunting and closing high-value opportunities
- Experience negotiating complex deals with win-win outcomes
- Ability to create and multiply a sales playbook and educate stakeholders across teams
- Consultative and solutions-oriented mindset; comfortable discussing various product offerings
- Experience with outbound prospecting, territory development, and pipeline building
- Comfort with deep technical product knowledge of Shopify
- Ability to create multi-product pipeline strategies driven by sales, marketing, partnerships, events
- Proactive, accurate forecasting with clear short- and long-term action plans
- Experience with sales tools (Salesforce, Salesloft, LinkedIn, etc.)

- Experience in closing B2B SaaS sales
- Experience in Ecommerce, Fintech, Retail, or Hospitality industries
- Experience selling POS systems
- Experience with MEDDICC, BANT, and Challenger sales methodologies
