Kids Love Nature, Lytchett Minster is currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join their team as a Level 3 Apprentice for the Baby Room. The setting features four beautiful classrooms that cater for every area of interest, with seamless access to an extensive outdoor space including a super-sized sand pit, mud cafe, outdoor classroom and playhouse.
Our full-time gardener works with the children and teachers to develop a love of growing by taking them on the seed to plate journey. They grow various vegetables in the poly-tunnels and growing beds, pick fruit from the orchard and berry bushes, collect eggs from the chickens, and feed the ducks. All produce contributes to the ingredients used by our chef, who prepares delicious homemade meals and snacks with the help of the children.
This is an exciting opportunity to complete a Level 3 Childcare apprenticeship within a friendly team in a fantastic setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that safeguarding and health and safety procedures are being followed at all times.
- Treating each child as a unique individual.
- Supporting new children in settling into the environment as appropriate.
- Carrying out observation, assessment and planning for own key children and all the children in the nursery, including statutory assessment requirements and the completion of child profile books neatly, accurately and regularly.
- Planning and presenting activities to the children based on their interests and developmental needs, following advice and guidance from colleagues and the nursery management team.
- Supporting children to find and engage in constructive activity.
- Changing nappies and clothing as needed, and assisting with toilet learning as appropriate.
- Contributing to the completion of records such as accident, incident and medical forms as well as sleep and nappy charts, if used.
- Discussing any concerns about a child’s welfare or development with the nursery management.
As the role of an Early Years Apprentice, you will be required to meet and achieve the below expectations as standard:
- Developing and maintaining the Considered Space.
- Supporting and nurturing the Considered Child.
- Becoming a considered adult within and part of the prepared environment.
- Attending training in line with your Apprenticeship training.
- Meeting the statutory requirements and the expectations of the Company as laid out in the relevant documentation.
Qualities Required:
The ideal candidate will need to be a great team player, confident and outgoing, and must be willing to carry out a variety of tasks. You must also be imaginative, creative and committed to a career within Childcare.
Requirements:
- You must be able to obtain a clear DBS.
- You ideally will have GCSE Grades A*-C in English and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills.
Hours:
Working hours will be approximately 36 hours per week with shifts between 7:45am and 5pm.
