Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship – Tiny Oaks Day Nursery

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Tiny Oaks Day Nursery. Here at Tiny Oaks, our rooms have been designed and structured to offer a safe and secure environment for your little one to develop and learn through play. The nursery provides facilities for children aged from 3 months through to pre-school age and is registered as GOOD with Ofsted.

We have dedicated rooms for our various age ranges, and each room reflects the seven areas of learning, as prescribed in the Early Years Foundation Stage. All of our facilities are designed to be accessible to every child. Our fees are inclusive of freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, tea, snacks and drinks. Daily menus are carefully selected by a professional nutritionist to meet the energy requirements of growing children. Pre-school children also follow the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’. We support them and prepare them for their eventual move from day nursery to school. This is a more settled routine, with children working in small groups.

Through our observations of children learning through play, we are able to introduce adult-led activities that follow the interest of individual children, linking them to the seven areas of learning:

  • communication and language
  • physical development
  • personal social and emotional development
  • literacy
  • mathematics
  • understanding of the world
  • expressive arts and design

The children have open access to the garden every day (free flow) from their room and complete a lot of their daily activities outside through choice. The garden also reflects the areas of learning and allows problem-solving on a grander scale.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Be an inspiring practitioner with a sound knowledge of child development.
  • Be proficient in leading the delivery of all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Display a caring and nurturing attitude towards the children in your care.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Act as designated key person for an allocated number of children.
  • To observe, plan and assess children’s learning and development within the EYFS framework.
  • Develop positive partnerships with parents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a nursery setting would be desirable but not essential.
  • Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them.

Hours:

Tiny Oaks Day Nursery is open from 7:30am – 6:30pm Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week, 4 days per week.

Benefits:

  • Pension
  • Free parking
  • Easy commute
  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays
  • 1 week shut down at Christmas
  • Birthday off after 1 year’s service
